  3. can you please explain why we need a media city specifically? as opposed to just strengthening the media sector in various ways?

“media cities” always sound artificial and overly commercialized to me. maybe i’m missing something (probably), but in any case i think you’d want to re-brand… the whole appeal of beirut vis a vis the gulf is you don’t need these inauthentic things like “media cities.”

  4. @George name is not cheesy ya azeezi, cause this is the whole purpose to have all the facilities joined together in one area ie city, with facilities, studios, prod. houses, equipment, agencies and all, so no matter what u name it, it will INCHALLAH be media city and @ the most important location in the ME: Beirut.

Point being; lots of money is invested in media/ads/prod/post prod so the most important thing is political stability to secure a stable ground for the investors, or else it will run away like it did run the first time to Dubai…

  6. @XY so I take it it’s a full on Media City and not just an “internet city”?

as for “running” to dubai, it was purely a political decision and just putting a spoke in somebody’s wheels (along with the F1 circuit in Raouche or Bekaa). It didn’t run away, they pushed it away.

Fingers and toes crossed! We NEED it to work.
